I've just discovered that my girlfriend has an myspace account when she suddenly shut the computer off when I walked into the room unannounced. What's up with that ?

Secrets are usually because someone doesn't trust you with the truth. You don't know if you are just being paranoid of her or if she is really going out of her way to keep it from you. She may need her privacy and enjoy having something seperate from you. We all need our own place and you should respect that.

But she also may just be trying to hide it from you as well as other things. It's a dangerous path to follow in a relationship to find the correct answer to the question and you will find it if you want to really know if she cares about you by how she reacts. I would approach her with an open mind about it and not jump to conclusions right away. Generally, jumping to conclusions will make things worse than you already suspect they are. I think what you need is a reassurance that she cares about you and isn't looking for someone else. I hope she is smart enough to realise that and not get angry herself.

She doesn't have to share what is in the myspace account as it may be her private thoughts, such as the things someone may keep in a journal, but if she tries to deny it exists or makes you feel bad or wrong for wondering why someone you care about would be so secret, then maybe the relationship is already over.

I've seen this problem before...don't be concerned...it's called a love of privacy. Not a bad thing. Some people just don't like someone else hovering over them all the time.

So don't get all worked up about it. If it bothers you, talk it over, but don't press the point.

well i would be ok with her haveing a myspace but the turning off the computer when u walk in sound s bit fishy. i would talk 2 her about i and work it out. dont jump 2 conclusions. do investeagte a little to make sure nothing is going on.

Did you ask her about it? She could be hiding something. But I know I HATE when my husband looks over my shoulder at what I am doing.

she is more than likely talking to people that she doesnt want you to know about. either ex friends, boyfriends, whatever or she could be exploring her sexuality talking with members of the same sex and she is embarrased. no one needs that much privacy unless they are hiding something. i am a very private person. i dont exit out unless i dont want someone knowing something.

well she could be hiding something...or taking to someone she doesnt want you to see!...that is just a little suspicious!!....if she was smart she wouldnt freak out and make it so obvious!!...duh.....so you should ask her about it!!...it may be nothing...but she sure made it look bad!!!
